ANIMAL SURVIVAL BALL
©Gary Bowman

In a wild place, When the sun goes down, The wild things all gather ‘round
O’er land and sea, near and far, From Co-Zu-Mel to Mada – Gas - Car
Galapagos, Patagonia, Belize and Amazonia
A wild time is had by all, At the Animal Survival Ball

Armadillo and Chinchilla, Rhino, Tiger, and Go-Ril-La
Salamander, Terrapin , Chimpanzee and Pangolin
Ivory-laden Elephants , Leopards in their finest prints
Pheasants flaunt their fancy feathers , I think we’re in this altogether

Lonesome George can’t find a date, He’s a dollar short, and decades late
Martha, she’s so very lonely, ‘Cuz she is the one and only
Dodos won’t be coming ‘round, Some are lost, before they’re found
Endangered, Extinct, Protected, Demise, otherwise expected

Grab a partner, doncha wait, Hit the floor, ‘Fore it’s too late
Got no time for grief and sorrow, Dance like there is no tomorrow
Disco, Polka, Malagueña, Foxtrot, Pogo, Macarena
What a night!  It’s so grand!  Hear the Awesome Possum All-Star Band

Now this place is really hoppin’, Hip-Hop, Be-Bop, Bunny-Hoppin’
Salsa, Samba, Zamba, Tango, Rhumba, Tumba and Fandango
Boogie-Woogie, Hokey-Pokey, Hully Gully, O-Kee-Dokey!
How those critters carry on, Will they see another dawn?

Lonesome George can’t find a date, He’s a dollar short, and decades late
Martha, she’s so very lonely, ‘Cuz she is the one and only
Dodos won’t be coming ‘round, Some are lost, before they’re found
