BEYOND THE MIRAGE

Whispers of a desolate land, Silence of the burning sands
Claustrophobic desert sky, Shifting shadows sigh
Wild, searing sun ablaze, To horizon’s edge I gaze
Shimmering, cool desert stream, Is it real, or a dream?
 
In this parched and barren waste
(Water) I can almost taste
Oasis in a desert place,
No relief - Only a mirage
 
Traveling through this weary land, We are all just grains of sand
Stifling, suffocating air, Journey’s desert solitaire,
Wild, searing sun ablaze, To horizon’s edge I gaze
Shimmering, cool desert stream, Is it real, or a dream?
 
Sun-baked lands, Burst in bloom
Desert sands, Become a pool
Thirsty ground, Bubbling springs
Shout for joy, Rise and sing!
 
Grassy reeds, Begin to grow
Streams of water, Freely flow
Gushing forth, In desert place
Living waters, Beyond the Mirage
