BLUEBIRD SYMPHONY
©2012 Gary Bowman In the hills, Where I was born The Bluebird’s song would greet each morn Through the woods, I ran without a care Nights were short, Days were long Filled with bluebird’s merry song I’d hear their cheerful singing everywhere A child’s heart, So it seems Filled with precious, Hopes and dreams Listen to that Bluebird Symphony It came to pass, I fell in love As Bluebirds sang from nests above A girl so sweet, The bees all swarmed around We spent that summer, In the sun Two young hearts that beat as one Truer love, Could not be found Through the weeks, We sang our song The days passed by, Our love was strong Bluebirds sang in four-part harmony Azure skies have turned to gray, Cold winds moan Winter’s chill has come to stay, And this bird has flown away I’ve seen fire, and I’ve seen rain Through it all, I can’t complain Life’s been good, Good as it can be Still I have those memories Of bluebirds singing in the trees And the girl that’s waiting there for me It comes around, Every spring, Young hearts leap, The mountains ring Listen to that bluebird harmony |
