CITY BUG, COUNTRY LIGHTS
©Gary Bowman I left the country, I was feelin’ smug, Said farewell to those Lady Bugs Packed my grip, Took to flight, Lookin’ for those City Lights Hi-beams, lo-beams, it’s such a fright Gotta love those neon lights Red lights, black lights, and bug light traps Watch out! You might get ----- Zapped! Now, I sure do miss those fireflies, And how they light the evening skies Where crickets chirp, ‘neath rising moon, And the mornin’ comes, baby, all too soon. Longing for those Country Nights, I get no kicks from City Lights One of these days, I’m goin’ back Hear the June bugs hit the screen – Whack! Wish I may, And I wish I might, See those stars, All a-shining bright Yeah, how I miss those country nights, City Bug, dreaming of Country Lights Hi-beams, lo-beams, it’s such a fright Gotta love those neon lights Red lights, black lights, and bug light traps Watch out! You might get ----- Zapped! |
