COUNT THE STARS
©2013 Gary Bowman ‘Neath an ocean of stars, I lie awake On a blanket of sand, Crashing waves break Heart filled with hope, Head filled with dreams Thoughts flow so freely, Like Milky Way streams. In this world, of pain and loss, Like stellar dust, Our lives are tossed. And, when comfort, Cannot be found, Count the Stars, I’ll be around. Constellations, Span the sky Orion casts a watchful eye. Cassie sits upon her throne, Hercules stands all alone. Moon comes and goes, Waves pound the shore, Seems like this all, Has happened before. Heart filled with hope, Head filled with dreams Thoughts flow so freely, Like Milky Way streams. When the darkest, Day turns to night, Just Count the Stars, It will be all right. And when hope, Can’t be found anywhere, Count the Stars, And I’ll be there. Blazing a trail, Shooting star bright, Sparkling cosmic, Dust fills the night Cassie sits upon her throne, Hercules stands all alone. And when our hearts, Like comets do stray, The North Star, steady, will point the way. And, when friends, Can’t be found anywhere, Count the Stars, And I’ll be there. |
