KANSAS SEA
©Gary Bowman Climb into bed, Turn out the light Thoughts run wild, In the still of the night Dreamin’ ‘bout, How it used to be Sittin’ at the bottom of the Kansas Sea Open my eyes, Look all around Crinoids waving their arms up and down Ammonites wrapped in spiral shells Floatin’ in the sea ‘neath the billowing swells Hours pass, Still layin’ in bed Big black shadow, Passing over my head Back to sleep, I start to snore Dreamin’ ‘bout, Old Mososaur He’s got the head of a lizard, Teeth of a croc Four big paddles, Watch him reel and rock Yeah, he’s as strange as strange can be Cruisin’ in the waters of the Kansas Sea Can’t lay still, I jump out of bed There’s giant turtles, sharks and squid Now, I’m as happy as happy can be Swimmin’ with the creatures, In the deep, blue sea Climb into bed, Turn out the light Thoughts run wild, In the still of the night Dreamin’ ‘bout, How it used to be Sittin’ at the bottom of the Kansas Sea |
