SONG OF THE SEA
©Gary Bowman Gales, squalls, Sirens’ call, Blowin’ ‘cross the restless sea Heartache, Heartbreak, Swells this tempest within me From angry, crashing, surf, and cold, relentless waves, Along the rugged, rocky shore To the silent, peaceful, deep; Where deepest secrets keep, on Fathomless and dark abyssal floor Fate decrees our destiny, Of what is, and what will be It’s just a Song of the Sea Before earth’s waters set in motion, A surging tide of magma ocean Older than the ancient sea Celestial force of full-orbed moon, Would with our souls attune, this Compelling force of gravity Sun and Moon, Earth and Sea, Dance in rhythmic harmony It’s just a Song of the Sea Beyond the reach of man’s illusion, Far away from land’s intrusion There’s a vast and rolling sea Within this world of imperfection, Behold, her rare perfection, this Wondrous biotic mystery Whales sing a melody, Of elegant tranquility It’s just a Song of the Sea |
